Crane & Rigging School

Founded in 2013, Diamond Rigging and Crane (DRC) fosters a diverse community within the crane and rigging training industry to equip and empower attendees to gain formal certifications for professional advancements and opportunities. In 2019, DRC expanded the organization to gain accreditation with the Texas Workforce Commission as a Texas Vocational Training program. DRC has successfully delivered over 1,200 courses to 500+ students. Completed contracts include, but are not limited to: Exxon, Field Core/G.E., BBC Chartering Carriers GmBh & Co., Tri-Element , South Texas Fencing, and more.

Diamond Rigging and Crane in Baytown, Texas was opened with one mission: to offer specialized training programs for all aspiring riggers and crane operators. Our school is accredited by the Texas Workforce Commission and our programs are designed to prepare every student for the written and practical exams needed to receive the NCCCO certification. Whether you are new to the industry or are a seasoned veteran, our instructors are committed to passing down the necessary knowledge and skills to see you succeed.

Flexible Scheduling

We offer classes in the morning to fit your schedule. If none of those times work, we’ll personalize a learning plan just for you. If you miss an upcoming class, classes run every 6-8 weeks.

Cost-Effective

Hands-On Skills

We offer practical job site training on a variety of construction machinery including small fixed cab cranes (gallion, carry decks, and more), large swing cab cranes (rough terrain and all terrain cranes), lattice boom crawlers, and more.

1-to-1 Training

Everyone has a different learning style and skill level. Our trained instructors care about helping you master the content of the NCCCO written exams and practical exams, depending on program.

NCCCO Certified

All of our training programs and recertification seminars are highly recommended for testing and have helped students obtain employment opportunities all across the United States.

QUESTIONS

  • Is everything done there at the facility?

    Yes, everything except the written exam, which is taken at a computer lab in the area.

  • Do you offer night classes and weekend classes?

    No, not at the moment. TBD

  • How old do you have to be to attend any course?

    You must be at least 18 years old.

  • How far is the crane yard from the office?

    Approx. 15 – 20 minute drive.

  • Do you have Spanish Classes?

    No

  • What if I have a felony?

    Courses can be taken if someone has a felony on their record and be eligible for employment opportunities.

  • What if I’m on probation?

    Courses can be taken if someone is on probation.

  • Do you help with job placement?

    Yes, we assist, but not guaranteed. 95% of students are currently employed.

  • Do you have refresher courses?

    Yes, we do.

  • Where is the school located?

    We are located in Baytown, TX, and Highlands, TX. East of Houston.

Rick Rodriguez

Started at the age of 18 being the 2nd generation involved with crane and rigging. I didn’t see the industry as a career due to the wages and labor at the Port of Houston. After the recession in 2008 and being in between college/jobs, I was encouraged to go back to the industry and became certified through a National Accredited Certification (NCCCO). Through this journey, I learned that it's not about mastering life, but being a good student, always learning, has kept me humble until today. Shana Rodriguez

Shana Rodriguez is one of our Instructors and Certified Practical Examiners here at Diamond Rigging and Crane. She grew up in the small town of Baytown, Texas, which is now rapidly growing, and received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston Main Campus back in 2016. Shana has been with the company since 2016 and have become a great asset to our team. She prepares students for the written and hands-on exam for each program, where she displays her strong leadership and kind characteristics.

Rubi Botello

Rubi Botello provides administrative support to the Diamond Rigging and Crane team. She brings over 20 years of experience in office management that includes accounting expertise. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
